Brewery Manners Test and Completion Certificate! -
This class requires a base knowledge of training behaviors from the handler including capturing, shaping, marking, and timing.
On the dog side, the dog should know how to sit, lay down, settle on a mat for at least 30 seconds, have basic leash walking skills, be non-reactive (barking, lunging, growling) at other dogs and people, and have the ability to take treats in the presence of other dogs and people.
It is okay if your dog needs a few moments to settle when first getting to class.
If you and your dog have these skills and understanding, you may move straight onto Brewery Manners, if not I recommend joining the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class first to work on foundational skills and join the following class. -
If your dog has reactivity to other dogs or people, I suggest doing private session with me first to gauge your dog’s level of reactivity. Sometimes first going through the CGC class is enough for some reactive dogs, other reactive dogs may need 1 on 1 private training for a while. And some dogs are just not suited for a brewery setting… and that is okay too! I offer other fun classes for reactive dogs such as Trick Dog Classes and AKC FITDog classes.

Absolutely! Even if you don’t frequent breweries, many of the places the classes are held have non-alcoholic options and great food!
In addition, this class is great for teaching your dog how to behave well at cafes, restaurant patios, or even outdoor picnics!
